The Dance of the Dragons

The dance of the dragons, tis a beautiful thing
They movie like clockwork, you can see the cogs spinning
The intricate moves and crisp steps
The mesmerising work of the devils pets
The short little twirls, the intricate footwork
You cannot imagine that hell is where these creatures lurk
You look into the beasts eyes
And then, abruptly, you get surprised
You wonder how such a thing of beauty
Can do the work of killing people, such a filthy duty
You look deeper and deeper into its heart
And find that from the heart, its soul is a world apart
No, no, its soul lies in the depths of the universe itself
And the dragon does these jobs in fear that its soul the universe would engulf
This saddening story lifts you into a different world
A type of wold that in your childhood was unheard
Your eyes go further, and look at the beings scales
Overlapping each other like the numerous childrens fairy tales
In which the dragon was the evil one
And the prince the person who used to get the work done
Its body is much like the touch me not flower
It closes into itself as soon as it feels that someone else is in power
Of how it thinks and what it does
Its nostrils flair up when the creatures angered
When its thoughts and emotions get entangled
It opens up its giant wings
And out of them falls a ring
This ring is only given to those it trusts
He gives them so that he remembers these people
Even when his memory rusts
And then his scales close up again
Hiding each other bit by bit
There are so many its like the layers of puff pastry
Although this thing beauty is not a delicacy
Its face is sculpted, sharp features like the tip of its tongue
Its eye defined with long eyelashes
But this particular creatures lip has been stung
By the sword of a mighty god
And to think, these were the people we used to call lord
How can we do such a thing?
When the lords themselves are doing such incomparable things
Its cheek bones are highlighted
Due to the dusky black of the skin underneath
But also due to the blood dripping from the same skin
After an epic battle with lots of fighting
I never thought I would see such a magnificent creation
And when I did, it was more mystical than my imagination….
